What is Report + Support and why should I report?
This Report+Support platform allows you to report concerns about bullying, harassment and sexual harassment where a member of
staff has been affected. Whether this be by staff, students, visitors or contractors throughout the LSBU community. This could relate to a single incident, several incidents, or ongoing lower-level behaviours. Please note that if the person who experienced bullying, harassment or victimisation was a student, please report incidents through the student
Report and Support site, or the Mental health and Wellbeing service through
myaccount,
Log on to your MyAccount
. Click 'My Support' and then 'Schedule an Appointment'. Alternatively, you can visit the SLC help desk, or email
studentwellbeing@lsbu.ac.uk.
In order to uphold our EPIIC values and ensure an inclusive, respectful and dignified environment for all, we encourage staff to report all incidences of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, victimisation or discrimination. We understand that this may feel daunting and have outlined the various formal and informal reporting options available to you below, including the option of reporting anonymously. Reporting incidents allows us to provide additional support, where requested, and monitor trends, providing interventions as part of our zero tolerance to bullying, harassment and discrimination.
You will be asked to answer short, multiple-choice questions about the incident(s) or behaviour(s). We also ask for diversity monitoring information, which helps us to identify trends in relation to protected characteristics, but this information is entirely optional. Please note you can leave the form at any point.
How do I know if I have experienced bullying, harassment or sexual harassment?
If you have experienced or witnessed a situation, and are unsure whether it was bullying, harassment, or victimisation, we would encourage you to view LSBU’s
Staff Bullying, Harassment and Sexual Harassment Policy which outlines definitions and examples of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination. As well as articulating what does not count as bullying, harassment or victimisation. It also details the approaches to addressing unacceptable and unlawful conduct and refers to additional sources of support.
Additionally, we would encourage you to speak to one of LSBU’s Dignity at Work Advisers. These are a network of trained volunteers who are there to support you if you feel you are not being treated with dignity or respect. They can listen and talk through the options available to you. You can talk to one of the Dignity at Work Advisers and still decide not to take any action. Dignity at Work Advisers can support you with any approach you take and can be contacted before or after a report is made. Their individual bios, areas of expertise, and contact details are available on
Connect.
What are my reporting options, and what will happen to the information I provide?
Emergency Situation
In an emergency, you can contact the emergency services on 999. Alternatively, you can contact or on-campus security services on 0207 815 8219,or 6666, or via their email address security-office@lsbu.ac.uk. Any safeguarding concerns should be reported to safeguarding@lsbu.ac.uk.
Submit an Anonymous report via Report + Support (Informal)
You may wish to report anonymously where you have experienced or witnessed a situation and would not like to take anything further or receive additional support, but would like the situation logged. Anonymous reports will be picked up by the EDI Team, who will review the report and assess potential risks and areas of intervention or escalation where possible and needed.
Submit a Named report via Report + Support (Informal)
You may like to submit a report where you have already addressed or are planning to address someone's behaviour yourself, or are looking to resolve the situation informally and are willing to provide your contact details to receive support. You will have the option as to whether your report is picked up by the EDI team or relevant HR Business Partner/Adviser. In either case, your chosen team will review your report and assess potential risks, identifying areas of wider intervention or escalation where needed. They will follow up with you to ensure you have appropriate support.
Submit a Named report via Report + Support (Formal)
If you would like to raise a formal grievance about someone’s conduct, you may like to initiate this via a formal report to Report + Support. The report will be picked up by your relevant HR Business Partner/Adviser, who will review your complaint, assess potential risks and begin the assessment process. They will contact you in accordance with the timescales laid out in the
Grievance Policy.
