LSBU defines bullying as is offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour which can involve the misuse of power (set out in more detail in the Student Bullying, Domestic Violence, Harassment and Sexual Misconduct policy ). These behaviours can make a person feel vulnerable, upset, humiliated, undermined or threatened. Power does not always mean being in a position of authority. It includes both personal strength and the power to coerce through fear or intimidation.
This can be between two individuals, or it may involve groups of people. It might be obvious, or it might be insidious. It may be persistent, or an isolated incident.
Bullying can take the form of physical, verbal and non-verbal conduct.
It can occur in written communications, email, text, by phone, online, or via social media, not just face-to-face.
Bullying is not ok and is never your fault. You can report this behaviour on Report and Support platform and access support from LSBU.
